Does running through a water sprinkler count as a bath?

Based upon the final panel, I think Calvin rested his case of girls being slimy.

Hobbes looks quite handsome in his hat.

Sure it’d spell something. Just don’t fudge it by taking the last letter of “girls,” and it’d spell GROG. And so you’d have the official club drink as well. Just a pity that it’s a drink that six year olds aren’t allowed to buy.

Wait a minute… Calvin actually took a bath???

Well it’s not top secret any more…….blabbermouth..

She’s going to toss you into some gunk if you’re not careful, Calvin!

This is further proof that Calvin doesn’t bully Susie. Some commentators have accused him of this in the past and others including myself have pointed out that this isn’t true. The way that Susie speaks to Calvin in the first panel shows that she doesn’t think of him as a bully. He just annoys her much of the time and is doing so now.

Susie also annoys Calvin although she’s usually trying to be friendly when she does so. As Stupendous Man, he calls her Annoying Girl. Sometimes they manage to be friendly towards one another as was the case when Calvin found that all the other boys had joined up for baseball so he was the only boy in a playground of girls. He and Susie played together and discussed Calvin’s dislike of organised sports.

It is not unheard of for the boy and the girl to eventually get married when they fight like that as kids.

Calvin in a few years girls won’t appear slimy. Trust me it’s a male thing.

You have to be careful of that slime and those cooties. If you are are not careful you get contaminated and actually start liking girls. Scary, huh?

Calvin knows what “redundant” means.

They may not be slimy, but they are loud.

May 16th 1999 was a Sunday, which would have made “last Saterday” yesterday.

that was at least 25 years ago … wonder how Calvin has aged … yeah, yeah, it’s just a cartoon, but some of the better ones has their characters age and I wonder if Watterson stopped because Calvin wasn’t aging …

In front of Susie, Hobbes is a big coward, being a stuffed toy instead of a tiger.

Nothing wrong with Calvin that shock therapy wouldn’t cure…

He will get a black eye soon in the next strip i’m guessing.

In general, boys are much slimier than girls

And Hobbes doesn’t say a word…

I’m glad I never went through that phase. And poor Suzie. She would have been a good friend for Calvin. His other half knows for sure.
