Welcome to a woman’s world. If NOTHING fits, you keep looking until something does.

After I turned 20, I discovered finding swimwear harder to fit.

find a store that has things that fit and keep coming back (but still try things on!) That’s been my motto for ages. Not a lot of options where we live right now so I am happy there are two stores where I can usually find something that fits (our of about 8 choices if you count Walmart)

It’s even harder when you shop at second hand places.

Try being a tall woman. First, you try everything on. Then, since most stores don’t have tall IN them, you try to order the same thing online, but in tall. And it doesn’t fit quite the same…

masnadies, it’s the same for us short women. Fits great at the regular length, but not in the short! Even if you stay with the same brand the “same” jeans you got last year may fit different than the last. I heard once that they’re all just cut on a big stack together….Meaning even if they’re the same style/size they may be different. SO true. I got two of the same pair the other day (tried one on and not the other) and the one I didn’t try on is too small!

Doc, I have sort of a similar problem. If I find shirts that fit my neck size and sleeve length, they look like they were made by Omar around my midsection..

lol , i can relate, try buying for a tall man who won’t go with u to try on clothes. and your right wranglers do fit , they are about the only ones that come in a 38 length.

If you’re too short, that’s better than being too tall. You can just shorten your clothes (or go to a friend, or a dressmaker, if you can’t do it yourself).

Of course, that’s what they mean (where I shop) by petite sizes - cut for someone who is proportioned differently.

The trick is to explore the stores extensively, to find out what each one specializes in. And then hope they haven’t changed, the next time you come in…

Yeah, but if we’re talking “toy stores” (electronics, hardware, sporting goods…) we have no problem checking out other stores!
