I do scarves.

I do socks

I would much rather have an afghan, scarf or socks than a gift card.

‘Tis the season to take up knitting; keeps you out of the stores!!

Too much shopping

I know people who do that, albeit more successfully- I couldn’t. But still, way better than people who buy gift cards that you aren’t interested in or near the store, or a relative who buys even tiny kids random glass ornaments that aren’t related to their interests. Socks and scarves are great if they match you- knitting is always good.

I still say, if it gets to be too much, you are probably buying presents for way too many people you don’t know well enough (I know I am). And you probably don’t want/need them buying you anything either. Which brings us back to Cathy, if she doesn’t get it done, they’re still better off because they don’t have another tschotchke to dust.

If you want to make a personal gift for everyone on your list like a scarf or afghan you’d better begin in January to get done by December.

Your 3rd wife?…….wow……you were certainly a gift, weren’t you? Merry Christmas oh generous one.

And he’s missing her too! Problem with afghans – you need to match the decor.
