Go for a walk, Cathy. You’ll feel better. Don’t start the vicious cycle again.

Had a similar problem with alcohol. Guess what? It wasn’t Mom’s fault.

I wonder if she had an article for that in the pile of “well meaning advice”?

Josh, we know about the spammers. Just flag them.

Those of us who don’t overeat, and who aren’t all that close to anyone who does, have a hard time imagining how totally the topic could dominate the thoughts and lives of so many.

After hundreds of times of hearing Cathy say, albeit in hundreds of ways, that she overeats, I’m no longer one bit entertained by it.

Nothing about maternal over-mothering, or the domestic male-female disconnect, is inherently any funnier - but I can relate to those, since I live surrounded by females only (household, parents, in-laws). I’m constantly amused reading the strip on those days.

Boring / hilarious? It’s the same Cathy either way. How odd.

For the last 20 years before my Mom died, we had a wonderful, adult relationship. She and I got along better than she did with either of my sisters. A few years ago, she said she thought we got along so well because we worked all the kinks out years before. I was the worst, most obstinate child and a totally rebellious teenager.
