Cathy: What do you mean, you're going to be a Grandma, Andrea?! Andrea: I had my children sort of early, remember, Cathy? Cathy: Your daughter was just a flower girl at my wedding! Andrea: She was a "flower teen" and that was five years ago. Since then she finished college, got married and is starting a family! Cathy: But if you're old enough to be a Grandma, then I'm... I'm... Forget the kids! The grown-ups are growing up too fast!
I think Cathy is supposed to represent all the foolish things we do – kinda like spending too much time looking for the “perfect” bathing suit, obsessing over our weight, worrying about boyfriends/husbands, eating unhealthy foods AND not keeping in touch with friends. If Cathy were “normal,” she wouldn’t be very funny at all.
