Oh, you definitely don’t appear weak, Irving, just pathetic. But fortunately, Cathy loves that, and it’s amusing to the rest of us. ;-)-Good morning, Cathy nuts! I hope Aaron and Billy are doing well, and I hope the rest of you survived Halloween fun. I’m probably headed back to bed soon because I’ve lost my voice and didn’t sleep well last night. See you later!

Good for you Irving. You don’t want to bring down the rest of us guys in the eyes of all these women.

Morning fellow Cathyites. Electra is sitting in an unimpressed demeanor. Afternoon Mom!

gogglinup paramedic Aaron says rest and call me in the morning. If I find your voice, I’ll send it back pronto. Dr. Billy is in his NIH lab at least 3 hours by now. Me, I’m joining gobblinup in sleep. (Uh, in my own bed I mean). :-P

Aaron . . . (my favorite IT guy!):

Hope you’re feeling better today!!!!! I’ve got a question! I tried multiple times to change my avatar today to reflect that Halloween is now over and Thanksgiving will soon be upon us but no matter how hard I tried, every image I selected gave me an “error failure” message (and yes, I made sure every single image was under 2 mb as the site instructed). I would ask if anyone else here is having that problem but I see that gobblinup was able to change her name and avatar just fine. Do you know what I’m most likely doing wrong? Because until I get this figured out, I’m going to look pretty silly making any comments on the Go Comics site with my current avatar still reflecting Halloween (like I’m too lazy to change it or something!).

In the meantime, good afternoon to you, gobblinup, Susan, Rina, K.F.G. and all my other fellow Cathy nuts joining us here today! (Rina, hope you weren’t offended by me saying that. Somehow it’s evolved into what I say just about everyday now!)

Irving sooooooo sounds like my husband!!!!! He rarely ever expresses any kind of pain or complains about anything whatsoever. Of course, since we live together, it would be a whole lot harder to keep a painful accident like this a secret from me no matter how much he may not want to appear “weak”! ;-)

Sorry for the delay Mom. I was sleepin’

First thing to do is clear your browser history. Your brain is probably mucked up. Uh, nothing personal. If you need a hand with that little job, let me know what browser you use (IE, Firefox, etc).

I’ll be here until 5:30 DC time. If it’s after that, Dr Billy will lend a hand. He knows to check in here.

@gretchensmom: no, I’m not offended – in fact, I’m not quite sure what I’m supposed to be offended about – being called a Cathy nut? well, no problem! (Actually, I’m complimented.)

as to Irving, no I don’t think weak is the right word either – pretentious maybe. Do we need to know exactly what kind of pants, contacts, etc. were involved? At least he didn’t give all the brand names.

    Actually Mom, try this site:http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000510.htm

It tells how to clear history for various browsers. If that doesn’t help, I’ll come up with Plan B.

When I was young enough to go out for Hallowe’en, where I lived nobody said “Trick or treat!” We said “Charity please.” No idea why. Maybe because Hallowe’en is a Christian tradition and we were 99.44% Jewish? Has anyone any similar experiences?

Hey GretchensMom, I found out how to change your name too. I had to clear cookies in order for it to work. Make sure you know your password so you can sign back in to GoComics.

    Here’s how to clear cookies:http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cookies

It was nice knowing you. Aaron will have a bird when he sees what I did to his name. :-D~Billy

Hey! I love what you did to Aaron’s name. :-) GretchensMom, I’ve never had to clear cookies to change my name, but maybe it’s different on everyone’s computer. All I’ve ever done is go to my profile and update the first name to whatever I want my new name to be. Previously it was blank, so it used my login name, lightenup. Then I changed it to “gobblinup” which will override my login name. It took effect almost immediately. As far as the avatar change goes, I did find that if I tried changing it in the middle of the day when the website was busy, it hung until I closed the window. But if I do it really early or really late, it was much faster and worked fine.Let us know how it goes…*@*Billy**, do you really work at NIH? My mom worked there for many years, but in the real estate dept, nothing medical. I even worked in one of the cafeterias during college one summer. Good times… not. I wish you’d sign up for your own login because I get confused if it’s you or Aaron leaving a comment!Nice napping with you earlier, Aaron. ;-) I feel somewhat better and my voice is coming back (much to my kids’ chagrin :-))

    Not weak Irving, just stupid.

I thought Halloween was a pagan holiday.

When I was a kid we yelled “Help the poor, my pants are tore, give me some money to buy some more” — often shortened to just “help the poor.” Nobody said “trick or treat” until later in my neighborhood, & we thought it was weird.

I don’t think Halloween is a Christian holiday.

Irving is being kind of cute today in a helpless way :)
