Just pay them a lot of money like the huge corporations do, then theyāll lie for you.

Thatās like looking at the Titanic and saying, āThere goes my cruise.āLOL, legaleagle48! And even with an eyeroll! :-) Good morning, Aaron and Susan! (BTW, I should have clarified yesterday that when we didnāt have a working sewer, we still brushed our teeth; we just went to the neighbors house. Glad no one assumed that we didnāt brush our teeth for 3 days!)Hello to GsMom, Billy, KFG, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, soonergal, lippyfish and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!

Cathy being her usual eyeroll self tried to butter the guy up. I love how deadpan the accountant is. By now heās heard everything. lol I was unable get online here yesterday because something told me the page was maybe a āfake" ?? Has anyone else ever get this notice?

Truth might have worked better than flattery. Compliment his bald pate. Bet no one has ever done that before. Do it tastefully though. Oh wait, this is Cathy weāre talking about.
Ā
lightenup regressing to your childhood? :-D
Ā
gmforde I got that on goComics a long time ago. Something set off my āthis is a bad pageā monitor within Firefox. Iām on a Mac, which has recently been proven not to be as virus free as we Fan Boys think it is. But it wouldnāt hurt to run a virus scan of your PC anyway. Sometimes a simple power off and power on to clear out all the temp files is enough.
Hi Mom!Ā
Almost forgot to say I loved your story last night lightenup. I grew up on a 1,000 acre dairy farm in NH. My brother and I sold it to the state so they would preserve the land. It ticked off a couple of the real estate magnates in town but that was the point. Even Norman Rockwell would have looked at our idyllic scene and cried.
Ā
Grocery shopping and errands are done. No rest for the weary (nor for the wicked) but Iāll try anyway.

Way too obvious, Cathy. You should use a softer approach.

LOL Aaron ābald pateā. :-D Not exactly cruel but still . . .
Ā
Hello evening Cathyites. Dinner is about ready and then soccer at GU. (Yeah, I get around). :-)

Normally, Cathy, flattery would probably get you just about anywhere you wanted to go with a super-nerdy guy like this one . . . but not when heās a C.P.A. at tax time! Iām sure thereās nothing you can say that he hasnāt already heard from someone else 10 times already looking for the same tax breaks you are!!!!!
Ā
legaleagle48: :-D

Good evening, Dr. Billy, lightenup, K.F.G. (wherever you are these days!), Susan, lindz.coop, rgcviper, gmforde, hendelca, summerdog, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, Gator007, J. Short and all the rest of the āCathyā fanatcis joining us here tonight. As always, good to āseeā you all!

Hi, Aaron!!!!!serenasakitty almost 13 years ago
Hi All Lightenup I just read your little story from yesterday. I know how you feel. Last time I was in the area I drove past the little country school where I went long ago. I could still see the classrooms where there had been 2 grades in each. That wasnāt so bad as it is now a community center and has been well taken care of. But I also drove past the farm where I spent most of my childhood. It just wasnāt the same anymore. The old house is still standing but it is falling down. It was in pretty rough shape when we left it so Iām not surprised. But it was sad to see that even the fences and everything were in bad shape. I guess it is true that you canāt really go home again.

Hi gang! Itās fun to go back and see whatās been going on all dayā¦ @ hendelca ā Thanks for responding last night and sharing. Iām sorry that things changed for the worse for your familyās memories. It is definitely hard to go back and visit.@ Susan ā Yes, for the most part I do have nice neighbors. Granted, I donāt see eye to eye with my immediate one (remember that issue around the holidays?), but weāre all still nice and caring about each other. I think it has a little to do with being in the South because I sure wasnāt this close with my neighbors while growing up in the DC area. I hope you have some neighbors or close-by friends that you can rely on too.@ gmforde ā No, I havenāt gotten that message before. Like Aaron, Iām also a Mac user, although I use both Firefox and Safari browsers if that helps.@ Aaron ā Good eye! My avatar is actually lightenup jr when she was a baby. Itās one of my favorites that makes me smile. I dug it up for her birthday so I thought Iād use it here until I figure out what my next one will be. Maybe back to Inspector Gadget? (p.s. Sheād be mortified if she knew this photo was upā¦ hee hee!)I like your story too, and Iām glad that it had a happy ending. It must feel great to go visit (if you do) or at least know that the land is in good hands.p.s. We do have one family property that is still ours, and although it doesnāt look the same, at least itās being taken care of. Itās in DC if you want to visitā¦ the 7-11 in Adams Morgan on 19th & Wyoming was our familyās store back in the 1920ās. It doesnāt look like much, but it means something to me.p.p.s. Speaking of your home area, we want to go north for our summer vacation. I was thinking of Maine, but have no idea where to go. We went to Cape Cod 1 1/2 years ago and loved it, but we went in Sept so Iām not sure I want to fight the crazy crowds there in the summer. Any suggestions? We like the beach, but are not big water people (i.e. no water sports/boats). We donāt need a lot of crazy attractions to keep us entertained, but it would be nice if there was something else to do/see other than the beach. Weāre open to anything, not just Maine.@ Billy ā You get around, huh? Iām not touching that one with a ten-foot poleā¦ ;-)@ serenaskitty ā Sounds like you had the same terrible experience that I did. Iām sorry about that. Where are you from and how far away do you live from there? BTW, my momās school also had 2 grades in each classroom and hers is now occupied by the borough authority and has offices in it, so that was good. Of course things were different (blackboards and desks removed), but at least itās being taken care of. Hugs to you, and I hope one day your childhood home is restored to what you want it to be as well.Whoops, sorry for another looooong post! :-)

Hi Cathyites!! Flattery will get her nowhere ā especially with him.
Sorry for folks finding their childhood homes in tatters. Itās especially sad for your Mom, lightenup. Mine is still there, but not really worth visiting ā I had enough of it and my parents lived in it until they died. I think it has been fixed up actually quite nicely, but it is now a rental property.

Well, it was worth a ā¦ nahālousy idea. Still kinda funny for the comics, though.
Hello, everyone. Great to hear from you all as always.
