That’s the problem with technology. We covet each new advancement, but are never allowed to enjoy it for long before feeling that we’re the Flintstones. And we wonder why many people feel restless and unfulfilled? We’re not allowed to be fulfilled. We must always, always be desiring what’s better than what we already have- even though what we already have was once trumpeted as better than anything anyone else ever had.

I agree. I like the second panel too. :-)We are a technology family. My husband likes the latest gadgets (esp Apple), but since that’s his job, he gets them through work so we don’t pay the premium for being the first-adopters. Meanwhile, it took me a while to get a cell phone, then a while to get an iPhone, which I still have, although it’s 3 versions old. I can easily catch onto new technology, although I don’t feel the burning need to have it. I also don’t see the need to buy my kids the latest gadgets (Jr’s best friend got an iPad for Christmas, which I think is unnecessary since she only uses it for games and taking pictures)Good morning to all the Cathy nuts so far! Happy Saturday to the clan yet to come!Hi to Molly mcgee from Jr and Lil!! They had big smiles from your greeting yesterday. :-)@ GsMom – Yes, I wanted to do that to Cathy yesterday too. LOL!!And a hug to Aaron and Billy wherever you are – we miss you!!

A mother’s hope springs eternal. But I do like Mom’s brand of “handheld” better than Cathy’s.Happy weekend to the Cathy Clan!

@Thomas Scott Roberts – all stress is internal. Meaning that you only “must always be desiring what’s better” if that’s what you choose. I never go out and get the latest anything. I wait for all the suckers to clear out and tell the company what the problems are first. After they’re fixed, I’ll take a look. No pressure for me, cuz I couldn’t care less about being first!

Somehow, the song “Hold my hand” by Hootie & the Blowfish comes to mind here.

    Gotta love technology, huh?

HI, MOM! Hope you’re having a great weekend, nutty “Cathy” Clan.

Hi Cathyites!! I’m with most everyone here — I would never think of rushing out to get the newest gadget (or worse, standing in line all night). We got iphones this year because our old phones were not working well anymore. It’s fun to play with, but do we really need all that junk?

Remember when we all expected to have “paperless” offices.
