Cathy: I don't know what to do for Mother's Day this year. Women: Me either. Black hair woman: If I let my kids make me breakfast, I'll be cleaning up for weeks! Blonde woman: Ha, ha! If we take the baby to a restaurant, do we volunteer to vacuum when we leave? White hair woman: Do I hug my son or scold him for painting "I love mom" on the wall? Women: What to do! Whew! Who knows what to do??! Cathy: Which is worse......fearing that you'll turn into your mother, or realizing that all your friends already have?

Uggghhh another Mother’s Day is upon us. A difficult day for those of us without children, but I do think the moms deserve it.

Or, which is worst, not turning into ‘just like Mom’?

I told my son that he is taking me to the new Star Trek movie, maybe an early lunch, or dinner after the movie. My idea of a fun day. He also likes Star Trek.

Hi friends!! Just an update before getting ready to collapse for the day…Lil’s squad didn’t do great at the competition. There were 8 teams competing in her division, and only the top 5 moved onto the second day. Her team did not make it, but the worst part is how her coaches handled it. After they competed, the team was able to watch a video of their performance. Apparently, their 3 coaches reaction to the video was to yell at the entire team about how they all did a terrible job and “they disappointed them”. Really???? That was the best they could come up with? So when the parents went to go pick up their kids, we got a bunch of shocked and crying girls. We were all so pissed. It ended up being their last performance of the season, and that’s how it ended. I don’t care if they did the worst performance of their lives (which they didn’t – I only saw one mistake), the coaches should have only said, “You guys worked hard and you did your best and we’re proud of all you’ve accomplished” and left it at that. But no, these immature idiots (yes, they are immature even though they are adults) decided to berate them and make them feel terrible, when it would do absolutely no good at all!!! Unfortunately this is typical of these people, and I’ve tolerated it for most of the year because other people have complained and it hasn’t gone well. So I"m thrilled the season is done, proud that Lil did so well with her terrible coaches and that she has a national championship under her belt. Now to try and forget what a bad experience it was and move forward… Ugh!!p.s. GretchensMom – I read about your rant over at FBOFW. I’m so sorry that happened. For my sanity, I try to ignore most jerks, but do respond occasionally. I’m sorry you got involved in all that, but try to avoid the jerks because it’ll only add to your stress and will possibly get flagged, which we don’t want! Anyway, I’m with you… I despise the jerks and wish they’d all go away and I love the nice ones and my friends here! :-)

Hi Cathyites!! lightenup — So sorry Lil had to go thru that — I dance and I won’t dance at places where they yell at the kids. Most of them are trying if they are at all good, and they don’t deserve to be treated that way. As for Cathy, just plan something nice for yourself and forget about all the friends who are agonizing over what to do with the kids. My husband and I get each other a card for Mothers or Fathers day and go out to eat. Simple and nice.

Actually, I kinda see where Cathy’s coming from on this one.
HI, MOM. Your comment about your mom made me laugh. Best of luck with … um … not turning into her?
Greetings, Clan.
