It’s 2002. Cathy doesn’t have a cell phone, like everyone else did back then?

All reservations are now handled over the internet. NO one talks to the airline anymore. Impossible!

LOL How did we ever survive those corded wall phones? Stuck on the wall, standing there trying to talk in private was the pits. I wonder what will be next after smart phones.

Back in the day I had a corded wall phone in my kitchen. I replaced the original cord with one that was about 25 feet long so I could walk around the house while I was on hold. I’m new to your group and just have to say, I love your comments.

I’ve had a mobile phone since 1997. (Not the same one, I have to admit.) But I only use it for texting – I still prefer a real phone with a proper handset to talk and listen on.

I wouldn’t have a smartiephone if they paid me! I like to have a phone for communication purposes, and a computer for computing on.

I quite like being a dinosaur . . . in fact, I’m probably an endangered species.

    Stinks when that happens.

Yet, of course, our nutty Cathy finds a way to up the [eye-roll] factor.

Welcome, shlbycindy! Happy to have you with us, and hope to see more of your comments here in Cathy’s asylum.

    HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, Clan.

Hmmm – this scenario (almost) played out for me a couple of weeks ago. Something about 29 minutes on hold to talk to an airline rep – but only because you cannot cancel a flight online for medical reasons. A beautiful weekend!. It is Bikers Reunion and Summerfest here in New Liskeard. Over 6000 bikes registered for the reunion and they estimate over 20,000 people in town. Not bad for a town with 10,000 residents. Had a great time last night down at the reunion grounds. Supper from a vendor, watched Mark Crocker the ventriloquist entertain the crowd then enjoyed the wonderful sounds of Hotel California – an Eagles tribute band. Following that were fireworks. Yup, a great way to spend the evening. As a bonus, all the entertainment was FREE. No admission to the grounds or events at all. Tremendous support for the Bikers Reunion from the town as all the money raised goes towards the Community Cancer Care organization, which is run entirely by volunteers, who distribute the money to local area residents needing financial help while dealing with their cancer treatments.
