Irving: Have you weighed yourself, Cathy? Cathy: No need, Irving. I know exactly how I'm doing by how my jeans zip.. I know precisely what I weigh by the waistband on my sweatpants... I can even tell what I've gained or lost by how my contact lenses fit... Weigh myself? Hoo, boy! No! I do not have to weigh myself! AACK! Irving: And yet, you do. Cathy: Who can resist the digital experience?

Oh, oh Cathy! The scale Never lies (unless someone has jimmied it!). Its sort of like carrying a bank balance in your head…you just Know what your balance is without checking it…but once you do…Yikes!!! Bank computers Never lie…and if they do, then we’re All in deep (insert word here)! Have a wonderful Wednesday all! ;)

Thank you, Mrs. Guisewite. My two brothers feel depression from all that success talk from my late father. I feel successful because I have a good marriage of 40 years and two children pursuing what they want in life. Sometimes, his ghost pops up. But after our little exchange, I realize that of the two teenagers who were so depressed in Journalism class, I came out OK. I hope Cathy came out OK. I could never understand that such a beautiful person could not find Mr. Right. I wasn’t even looking. It just happened. I was planning to be that womanizing sailor in San Diego like I was in Asia. Father Sullivan, bless his soul, did not believe I could change. I did for my Luz. Well, good-by Mrs. Guisewite.

It is really quiet here today! And yes, seeing the numbers is much worse than just knowing what the numbers would be.

While I can usually tell how well I’m doing by how easy or difficult it is to get my pants up, buttoned and zipped, I still step on the digital scale every Sunday morning to confirm my beliefs either way. Naturally I prefer the number to be down by at least one pound since the previous week but if it isn’t, then I just make up my mind to try a little harder this coming week and that usually gets me where I want to be by the next Sunday morning weigh-in. It can be hard sometimes but it’s worth it because my health is much more important to me than any kind of food out there [no matter how delicious it is]. At 5’ 3" tall, I weigh 122 lbs., which is well within the normal BMI weight range for me . . . and while I wouldn’t mind losing just 2 or 3 more pounds, I’m still pretty happy with where I’m at right now.

Admit it, Cathy—you just wanted a legitimate chance to say “AACK!” today.
Ironic, since I was just thinking we hadn’t seen an “AACK” for quite a while.
HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
