Irving: I got the ring a long time ago. It was just never the right time to give it to you. Cathy and Mom: You've had it for a long time?? Irving: I'd get it out on every gift occasion... consider giving it... and put it back. Cathy and Mom: You mean it's... Irving: I even took it on our trip last summer... thought about it... and tossed it back in my gym bag. Cathy and Mom: It's... it's... it's a "gift closet" engagement ring?? That's so romantic!! Irving: That was romantic? Dad: For the next few weeks, you can pretty much say anything.
And how is that romantic? I like the idea of waiting for the right time and place, but since his proposal wasn’t exactly done with a romantic mind, I’m not sure that was his intent. I guess that terrible proposal really ruined any idea of romanticism for me with these two. I can only think that Cathy and her mom are rolling their eyes rather than being excited over Irving being “romantic”.
Hello Cathy friends! QuietStorm, I totally agree with what you said yesterday! And GretchensMom, LOVED your Simpsons face palm! So appropriate and perfect!! :-)
