Accountants have a solid (although boring) career with little chance of unemployment, as long as they are honest and know what they are doing.
Hello Cathy friends! Hope everyone is doing well!

I’m so glad that I’m able to do my own taxes online! I used to do them on paper and I used h&r block once or twice – nothing beats doing them online yourself. Although this year I had to mail them in because of an issue with my social security number. Apparently someone typed in the wrong number when they filed. Anyway, everything turned out fine and I’m glad I took care of that in February.
Hello Cathy friends! Is it so quiet because everyone else is doing taxes? Good luck!

I’ve been putting off doing my taxes, but I resolve to take of it tonight, online. Since I’m retired and living abroad with a modest pension income, I always end up not owing any money to the government, but not getting anything back either.

I suppose I’m just lucky – living over here I have never had to worry about filing taxes! It’s all done for those who work and pay tax, usually. Different if you’re self-employed though, I think.
Not sure I’d enjoy having to go through every penny I’d earned and spent every year with a stranger!

One advantage of being Canadian – our tax deadline is April 30 so we get an extra two weeks to procrastinate.

My husband is from England and he says that they never had to go through any of the nonsense we have here. They also never saw a doctor bill and every family was provided a mother’s allowance after the first child. Not a bad way to live.
