Cathy, why do you insist on making both of you miserable? You enjoy shopping. Irving does not. So why on earth would you want him to go in the first place?

My husband & I had the best method of Christmas shopping at a time when I didn’t have a license. We would go to the mall, and in the back of the car would be 2 large boxes with lids. We’d “synchronize our watches” at the food court then split up for a set amount of time and shop for each other, each trying to avoid the other, putting our purchases in our respective boxes. At the allotted time we would meet back at the food court and, together, shop for friends and relatives. All done in one fell swoop, and a lot of fun as well.

Yesterday, I was chatting at the food court with a man who said he was there while his wife went shopping in the mall. When she was done, she phoned him to meet her so that way both were happy.

I don’t really like shopping with my bf. He hates it and its just easier to do it myself.

I don’t like shopping with my husband either. We have different shopping styles (I"m faster), so the only reason we would go together is to carpool.

Hello Cathy friends! Thanks for the nice welcome back, Sis and QuietStorm! I’m doing some online shopping today, so I hope you all find some good deals!

Hubby and I go grocery shopping together every Friday night or Saturday morning (I prefer Friday night). It’s like our own little date time! Otherwise, we just do all our shopping separately.

I prefer to go alone because my other half and I have different styles and I’ll second-guess everything if he’s with me. We did do a little Christmas shopping together for the kids and we grocery shop together occasionally.

Hello Cathy friends! Happy shopping lightenup!, I didn’t see any huge deals this morning but I guess it depends on what you’re looking for.

Happy Shopping to those who venture out into it this time of the year. I have bought most of my presents throughout the year, so not a lot left to do.

Or maybe he could’ve just added a " … but I’m sure whatever you find will be lovely".

My husband and I haven’t Christmas shopped together in years because our styles are so different. He likes to go fast (which is all well and good if you know what you want and where it’s at so you can get in and out of the store quickly) whereas I’m a lot slower about it . . . . particularly when it comes to Christmas shopping. I hate to admit it but most of the time I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to get the people on my list so I just like to peruse the aisles a little more slowly, hoping something inspirational will eventually catch my eye.

Since this method of doing things drives my husband completely nuts, he pretty much leaves it up to me to do all the Christmas shopping for the both of us. It’s certainly not how I prefer to do it, but it’s a whole lot better that way because he’s too impatient to walk around the aisles slowly and I don’t like feeling pressured into buying the first thing we come across that will “do” just to hurry up get out of the store. I may not always know what to get but I like to put at least a little bit of thought into our gifts anyhow. Why waste time and money getting something for someone that you’re not completely sure they’ll like or want?

    Hi, rgcviper! :-)

Hello and Happy Monday, fellow Cathy fans. It’s really nice to see an occasional new name here as well as a few I haven’t seen in

a while. Hope everyone had a really nice day today! :-)

Cathy knows Irving hates to shop. She’d never ask him to go with her. & she certainly wouldn’t be upset if he said “no” as she’d expect it. It seems the cartoonist just wanted to make the joke about Irving’s thought processes even at the expense of a realistic strip.
