I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing, but I don’t recall seeing any offers for rebates recently. Maybe it’s because most things are electronic now, and most rebates are just automatically taken off. Or maybe companies just don’t offer them anymore.

I think I may have filed for a rebate only once in my life. Usually the rebate amount is too small to bother with all the work to file it – and companies that offer the rebate know that so they make extra money. The one I did claim was on a new set of kitchen appliances that amounted to a couple of thousand dollars so was well worth it. Like lightenup I don’t see may rebate offers any more either. After aIl, if the company can afford to give me a rebate then they should just not charge so much up front. I will be more willing to purchase the product then go through the rebate process.
