Mom: Irving's mother is over there spoiling my "grand-dogs"! Dad: They're her "grand-dogs", too. Mom: I'm the in-town grandma! She's supposed to live far, far way! Dad: You've spent thousands more hours with the dogs! They'll never forget you! Mom: ELECTRA! VIVIAN!! It's the elephant that never forgets. The dog recalls only the most recent salami stick.
I think it depends on the animal. Even though our cats love us all, the ex-strays definitely show preference for me. I’m guessing because they know I was instrumental in saving them and watching over them from the very beginning.
Speaking of, I have some sad news to share… We had to say goodbye to our other 18 year old cat, Nefi (Nefertiti), on Friday. While she’s had kidney issues for years, it was pretty sudden so it’s been a rough weekend. After saying goodbye to her sister, Cleo (Cleopatra) last month, it’s been a sad time. Nefi was our little stubborn cat who was sometimes a pain, but we loved our little grumpy girl. She had a lot of personality and let everyone know what she thought. We miss them both a ton. Here are some pics of Nefi and her sister when they were younger…
