My wife and I have never been ashamed of admitting where we met and usually joke about it. We met in a neighbourhood bar. Not the kind of bar were one would go to pick up or get picked up but one where you go for a quiet drink. I was there with my friend and she was there with her friend. My friend knew her friend so went over to talk to her. Not wanting to sit by myself when there were two attractive girls over there, I joined them. Three years later we were married and that was 45 years ago. My younger daughter met her husband through mutual friends and my older daughter met her fiancée in an online group. I don’t think there is any wrong place to meet someone so there is no need to be ashamed of that place either.
