The Hollies: Bus Stop
Bus stop wet day, snake weeps, I say,
“Please share my umbrella”
Rain stops, cloud goes,
Snake smiles, sun shows
Under my umbrella.
…….
All the day long we enjoyed it,
Change rain day to sunshine,
That umbrella, we employed it,
The whole day worked out fine!
In that morning I saw my friend
Weep beneath a cloud,
I gave that ol’ cloud what for!
Snake and I smiled when we saw that the rain was gone,
Let it return another day for sure.
Snakes need shelter too.
One tough chipmonk.
8.31 am in England and still only twilight. Going to be a dark day all day.
And then, the snake strangled the kindhearted chipmunk and ate him!
Moral of the story : Never trust a snake. Cue the “Said the Snake” song by Johnny Rivers!

On her way to work one morning
Down the path along side the lake
A tender hearted chipmunk saw a poor rain soaked snake
His purple colored skin had been all wet with the raindrops
“Poor thing,” she cried, “I’ll take you in and I’ll take care of you”
“Take me in tender chipmunkTake me in, for heaven’s sakeTake me in, tender chipmunk,” sighed the snake
She sheltered him all cozy under her big umbrella
And took him to her abode with some milk for the poor fella
She hurried home from work that night and soon as she arrived
She found that purple snake she’d taken to had bee revived
“Take me in, tender chipmunkTake me in, for heaven’s sakeTake me in, tender chipmunk,” sighed the snake
She clutched him to her bosom, “You’re so beautiful,” she cried
“But if I hadn’t brought you in by now you might have died”
She stroked his pretty skin again and kissed and held him tight
Instead of saying thanks, the snake gave her a vicious bite
“Take me in, tender chipmunkTake me in, for heaven’s sakeTake me in, tender woman,” sighed the snake
“I saved you,” cried the chipmunk
“And you’ve bitten me, but why?
You know your bite is poisonous and now I’m going to die"
“Oh shut up, silly chipmunk,” said the reptile with a grin
“You knew darn well I was a snake before you took me in
“Take me in, tender chipmunkTake me in, for heaven’s sakeTake me in, tender chipmunk,” sighed the snake…
Sssighed the snake!
