On the last day of school before the stay-at-home order started, all but one of the fifth grade teachers called in sick. This one was sick and tired, but out of sick days.
Where I grew up, grades 1-6 were in three rooms, with one teacher per room and about 16-20 students per room. My junior and senior high schools were used by seven towns worth of students and my graduating class was 178.
This must be a class in Ontario. Premier Ford promised to enhance education…then cut 1.2 billion in funds and increased class size. He is the Donald Trump of Canada.
This was not funny when I was going to junior high school in AZ. Most every class had students sitting folding chairs with no writing surface because every class was easily double the size of the classroom.
The ridiculous class sizes in high school paled in comparison to the 300+ people in some intro classes I had in college. You often didn’t even get a professor but some TA fulfilling their teaching requirement.

In my grade school the Nuns had no problems with 40 kids in class. Teacher’s strike had a whole different meaning.

She probably doesn’t like such huge class sizes either. It’s not like it’s her choice.
