What’s a real “roll”?

Hey dkram, if you want to date yourself you have to profess being around for the likes of Glen Miller, Artie Shaw, Fred Waring, Jackie Teagarden, Benny Goodman, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Fletch Henderson, and Harry James. Those were the days when we actually had musicians who could actually produce outstanding music.

Poppy seeds? Yuck! Nothing worse than a roll that goes crunch when you bite into it.

I still have a few of those fantastic old disks, jrbj. Also a couple turn tables in case one quits working someday.

Sufficiently aged rolls are indistinguishable from rocks (with apologies to Arthur Clarke)

I’ve got the Rock & Roll but I’ve also go some Bing Crosby, The Dorseys, Glenn Miller and some Satchmo.

jrbj, They were what my mom & dad listened to. Dad was a WWII vet, Big Red One. We still watch Lawrence Welk on PBS.

I grew up with Big Band (Dad) and Carole King, Gordon Lightfoot, and the like (Mom). So naturally I gravitated toward heavy metal, Irish folk, and Gregorian chants!
