It’s my theory that we’re not seeing the same universe in each strip. Each strip shows a universe that is imperceptibly different from the previous, like frames from a walk from Amber. Over time, the differences are perceptible and seem like continuity errors. The times are imperceptibly different, too, explaining why characters or histories don’t seem to age.

The red box is obiviously the fake, because EB has had some work done on his face and head since Monty broke parts of him and he’s had a nose up-grade, the red box shows him as he is NOW so it can’t be his original packaging.
