Nappers and sleepers, huh? I’ve always suspected the sleepers to be enemy agents (probably cats) masquerading as bassets. Then again, they both sleep a lot, so it wouldn’t be too hard to pull that masquerade off.
I guess the glitch is fixed. I hope it wasn’t something I said yesterday about a few million cats. Also, one tiny little glitch I noticed. The comment date should be 2010/01/14 and not 2020/01/14. I won’t be able to comment next week until late in the afternoon. I start a much better paying job next Monday. I just have to be there a lot earlier. At least I wasn’t banned from what I said yesterday. Maybe now, they’ll fix the rest of Sherpa.
What a really nice welcoming sight we have with Cleo back on the Sherpa page. Hooray! And who else to welcome us back but our own Little Susie Sunshine! Stel, you did a terrific job on depicting our famous gal. (Love the color of her shorts).

Yes. I’m really late. Shopping with Mom day was a long one. Dang. For an 88 y.o., she can still get around. Only problem with that is that she’s so short, I can lose her behind a produce table, then I have to wait until she goes by a gap in the aisles or she comes back to put stuff in the cart. I can barely keep up with her, but she tends to read every label on a shelf that catches her eye. Keeps me hopping.

sooo embarrassing to see it again.
I was so young… thinking I’d be a star one day…
but starting out in basset movies is hard.
There’s so much talent around you, it’s a good place to learn your craft….
But squeezing into that short-legged little costume… whoa!
And while the dogs all spoke English, I didn’t speak basset…. so I think I missed quite a few little jokes at my expense.
I didn’t find a human version of Stel’s whole poster either….
The humans seem to have borrowed bits of it at a time, for different designs.
This one uses a bit more of it…. and at least has the names, for comparison.

My Mom said they probably didn’t ask me because they thought I was really a dog!
I thought that was praise for my acting….
but nowadays I’m not sure that was what she meant.
It’s OK… I like dogs.
Especially Cleo…. and I’m glad she’s back on Sherpa.
Funny how you come to appreciate what you have, even if you didn’t, before…
when it gets taken away, and you suddenly have even less, or nothing.
We never had nothing, because we have our makeshift nest, here, cozily hidden away… and each other…
and of course, Cleo, albeit on PostImage.
I wonder how many other groups meet on old pages… I know of one… plus a couple on current but obscure forums.
None about a different comic.
Someone could have a whole secret strip…

Normally, I don’t even try to keep up with all the birthdays any more… it’s harder for some people to see pictures, and the crowds are smaller…
plus there are so many of you who have never told me when yours happens to be.
So I mostly just say “Happy Birthday”, if I know the date, and I remember.
I can’t forget StelBel’s, cos she’s the Queen, and, um.. you know…
But some other people have helped with them for years, when we still had big parties on Ballard Street….
and I feel bad if their special days escape me.
That in mind… I missed one a week ago…
I didn’t get to the comics at all that day…Then I planned to make it up, but I forgot, in all the excitement.
So now, hoping he sees it….
I want to wish a (very belated) HAPPY BIRTHDAY…
