Adam@Home by Rob Harrell for February 23, 2009
Transcript:
Laura: What's that? Adam: It's the Wii Fit. Laura: You bought a videogame? Adam: Yes, but this is a purchase that'll get us in shape. Laura: How is this different from the unused stationary bike and treadmill in the basement? Adam: Well, for one, this isn't nearly as expensive. Laura: That doesn't make me feel better. It makes me more angry. Adam: Here! Try the hula hoop...it's a stress buster.

what do you mean, unused treadmill? Hasnāt poor Adam been running enough, for the last weeks?

Harrel has a ways to go, especially with Laura.

Is it me or does Adam@Home look like it was drawn by someone else today?
namenamename almost 16 years ago
Whoa. Sharp curve on the artwork. The captioning is pretty much unreadable.

Whose Mr. Harrell? And Iāve been this strip for years.
roszellverhaegh almost 16 years ago
Maybe itās a vacation artist? Because it sure looks different.
FDNY almost 16 years ago
Iāve never āfavoritedā this strip before. It needed a change.
His AT&T bill must have been high because heād been āphoning it inā for years.

So, some of you have noticed Harrell before. The drawing is dissimilar to Bassetās, but i like the story line.

Is this the first time a different artist has āinkedā the panel? Is Brian OK?
from a Seattle Times fan of many, many years

Whoās drawing this today? Itās not Brianā¦
benbrilling almost 16 years ago
Imagine! ā¦ going to sleep for a WEEK, and then waking up a new man!
(Wish I could do that.)

I thought that looked like āBig Topā a bit!
While the change is a little jarring, this could be best for all parties concerned. It allows Bassett to concentrate on his other comic, and hopefully, saves the readers from more of the dreaded ātheme weeksā.

yep, I actually like those drawings better than before. Fresher, somehow.
perfesser3 almost 16 years ago
What happened to the drawing style? It looks different today. Is someone else doing it?
jbrabander almost 16 years ago
Iām OK with the new artist, but his lettering is a bit hard to read. I wondering if heās just doing the inking or if heās doing some of the writing too.
ross72 almost 16 years ago
I feel disappointed from the change.
While I was in Toronto, I caught the comics from the Toronto Star newspaper. I have been enjoying Adam@Home since 1993, I even have some newspaper cutting of the comics from 1993.
Can Brian be back with Adam@home?
