Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
We should officially change the name of the holiday to “X-mas”.The “X” is for wretched eXcess, eXcessive greed, eXcessive materialism, eXtra large debt….
Really! Christmas buying is the lifeblood of businesses all over the world. Even the Magi gave their most expensive gifts of gold, frankincense and myhr (sp?)….everyone wants to show the people they love how much they’re appreciated at Christmas. There’s nothing wrong with gifting; the trick is to ensure that everyone has the same option and that no gift is looked upon with $$$ as the most important indicator of value.
We made a pact in our family several years ago that we wouldn’t give Christmas gifts anymore. It’s taken 90% of the stress out of this time of year.
An educational tip, historically, Jesus or Yeshua, did exist whether or not you believe in Him. He was not born on December 25th but as stated earlier many pagan gods were and are celebrated on Dec 25. Constantine et al mixed this celebration with Christian beliefs which in God’s view is revolting. Jesus was born during the Jewish Feastival of Tabernables, late September to early October depending on the Jewish calander which is only 360 days long. But most of you won’t really care but is here for your information. Besides, it’s a comic strip and it is fun to watch you folks analyzing a comic strip.
Wesley, we may have more in common than it appears! We are grafted in, but there is a great deal of evidence to show that He was born during the Jewish Feastivel of Succot, or Tabernacles. I invite you to the website “elshaddaiministries.us” as their pastor has information that is rather compelling. As does Jim Staley of Passion for Truth and Michael Rood. Are we 100%, no, but a lot closer than 12/25! Look up “Truth or Tradition” by Jim Staley.

What will Santa say? Or has he sold out to profiteers, too? A dollar sign betrays rather than represents the season for me….

Is that Nancy’s house or is it the rental?
Vince M about 12 years ago
Thanks, LeoAutodidact – I’ll have to remember that if I’m ever in an obstacle course to the Holy Grail.

Smart guy, that Brad De Groot. Now he’ll NEVER have to put up the Christmas lights again.

And another thumbs up for Stan Freberg’s Green Chri$tma$. More than half a century after its debut, it’s still as timely as ever.

doctormcq about 12 years ago
You are right but that does not make the Torah or the gospel accounts wrong.
doctormcq about 12 years ago
I never said that you HAD to believe in Him. Just because you do not believe does not mean the He does not exist.

& doctor mcq: Rather than argue over dates it’s more important to remember what Jesus taught. The Devil loves it when we quarrel.

Christmas is also the time that people’s hearts are moved to give to charities. Christmas is their lifeblood too.
LeoAutodidact: You are correct!
