So what if Mr. Patterson gives his consent for the kids to stay up? 5 will get you 10 that they’ll never make it to the midnight hour.;-D

Of course he’ll say yes. When it comes to his kids, inside, he’s pure marshmallow.

Hey I used to not make it till midnight. Me and the wife fell asleep. Now I work from 10AM – 4 PM and 5:30 PM – 2AM!!

Say yes, they’ll probably fall asleep anyway!

Here everyone has always stayed up till midnight, because we have those traditional fireworks that start at 0:05At 0:30 it finishes and everyone rushes to grab the toothpaste first.

yep, always sleep through it and unless a neighbor pops some fireworks, I never know when it is midnight.

i usually have to work new years eve ..gettng up a 3:15 am. so i’m pretty tired well before midnight.

We stay up til it’s midnight in NYC. (10pm here). When the ball drops with Cooper and Griffin, we’re done

What do they intend to do til 12? Watch tv? Eat? Don’t give them anything with sugar or they’ll never get to bed!

Right! It’s going to fall anyways. It used to be important to me to stay up – now sleeps important.

We’ll be having a small group of friends over to toast the new year. it’s just about the only time I do see midnight. The nice thing is, everyone who is coming has plans that do not involve driving home.

How is John going to stay in bed with all that butter smeared all over him?That is one fantastic snow job, and I have seen some good ones.

I spent Christmas vacation with my grandparents until I was 12. My grandmother was a crafty and would turn the living room clock ahead an hour and somehow I never noticed. We’d watch the ball drop in NY and say Happy New Year and they would tuck me in. Gosh I miss those two.

My 7 year old might not make it til 12, but the other children will. I usually have no problem staying up, someone has to tell the kids to get down before people start shooting.

For me or others who happen to have birthdays on New Years Eve we get overlooked every year. For central time I stay up until 11pm we’re one hour behind NY and watch the ball drop. Then have hard time staying awake for that yawning.Dad don’t worry your kids will not stay up that long will fall asleep.

In Scotland, where my mother grew up, the partying BEGAN at midnight and continued until dawn. Staying up until the New Year came in and going to bed immediately afterwards was considered killjoy (or maybe English!) ;)
