I think Connie is âoverdoing itâ with the âFlabboâ comment(for what reason I donât know except to play on Ellyâs idea of herself). The âBeginningâ class would be better for Ellyâit would help her self-esteem.
Things like this are different between men and women. Another woman going through the same thing you are when it comes to weight issues and believes the same thing about herself as you do about yourself is a comfort (maybe even funny in a warped kind of way) . . . whatâs not comforting (or funny in ANY kind of way!) is the very idea that your husband ALSO thinks youâre just as fat and unattractive as you do!!!!! Thatâs when a womanâs self-esteem can really plummet, leading to other insecurity issues as well. If a man really, truly loves his wife, why canât he just tell her every day, in every way, how beautiful she is . . . how sexy she is . . . how much he loves her . . . and lucky he is to have her in his life? Why does that have to be so incredibly difficult for husbands to do?!?!? Thankfully I have a husband that still says those kind of things to me even after 24 years of marriage and I hope he always will. I only wish all other wives could be just as lucky where their husbands are concerned as I am with mine!!!

Good thing weâre not expected to take them seriously; since neither is drawn âfatâ, seems their being overweight is all in their minds.

I resolve to at least get into healthier habits: move around more often, donât snack on quite so much sugar and junk food, etc.

As one who is chronically underweight, I can tell you that one can be thin and flabby.

Every time I pass by the Golds Gym here in town I try and look the other way as not to see all those sweaty people in there through the front window !

So Elly roars at John for making a joke about wiring her jaws, but Connie makes a flabbo crack and Elly takes it in stride?
