DH was joking the other day, if the aliens have their own SETI they’re getting I Love Lucy reruns.

The Left tries to paint Nixon as a conservative, but nobody who believes in limited government could have imposed wage and price controls. How ironic that he called it his New Economic Policy, the same name Lenin used when he liberalized the Soviet economy in the Twenties to stave off economic collapse.

Reagan was the greatest President since Kennedy. And you sir are an idiot to think otherwise. History bears this out. Everytime the liberals try to tear him down, all they do is make him look better. Had we gone from Carter to Obama without Reagan, we’ld all be speaking Russian today. You can thank Ronald Reagan that you still have the right to run your pie hole.

Worst thing about Nixon is he got caught. When you really think about it he did a lot of good. And I am a Democrat.

Under Nixon the war in Vietnam ended and the service men and women came home.

Carter was a good guy with no clue, as was Bush SR. Bush JR did a poor job, that got us stuck with the absolute lowest form of life ever to serve as President in my lifetime, which goes back to Truman. What ever happened to democrats like Truman, JFK, etc…? Oh that’s right, the socialists took over the party! It hurts me as a lifelong democrat to see what Reid, Pelosi and Obama have done to my party and my country.

I’ll take Nixon over Obama any day. Five trillion addition debt in just four years. I cant imagine the foul shape of our country after four more years of reckless spending and unless leeches living off of the government because they are too lazy to work and a president that condones and supports the behavior.

toppop52: I don’t know if 52 is your age or IQ. If the former, your ignorance can be excused. In their day, Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, were all called socialists. The problem came when the “military/industrial complex” we were warned about took over the Republican Party, leaving a vacuum that sucked the Democrats along with them. None of the Reich wingers, then or now, have any idea what socialism is, most still using the communists’ definition. I have lived under a socialist government, and while it isn’t my first choice, I have to admit I have never had as high a standard of living before or since. Yeah, the taxes were about 20% higher, but we got 50% more for them.

I think Jimmy’s point was that if they are 42 light years away and are listening to us, the signals they’d be receiving right now would be from 1970 (i.e. when Nixon was still president)
