Can’t beat puppy therapy!! I have been known to stop by the local petshop and borrow a puppy. I sit down, they hand me whoever needs a little extra attention, and we go to a happy place. Apparently it’s good press for the shop. I don’t know. It does me good, and the pups don’t seem to object either.
Competition and under-pricing… Yes! The consumer always comes out ahead in this scenario. The puppy is warmer AND less expensive!
Of course, in the real world, Lucy soon becomes a congress-woman and uses taxpayer money to eliminate such competition, calling it “unregulated” (or blaming puppy germs, etc. and spinning it as harmful). Thus leaving Lucy as the warmest thing to hug in winter. And why not knock it up to ten cents, since her competition is gone?
I don’t like visiting pet shops because most of them get their pets from puppy mills, which are horrible for the animals. And supporting them in any way, or giving them good advertising would be just as bad. Adopt your puppies from the Humane Society or the SPCA! They’re wonderful animals and they really do appreciate you visiting them. That’s where I got both of mine.

Ooh, competition! Too bad ½¢ coins are obsolete where Lucy can do better than that.

Actually, Snoopy’s undercharging for his services. A hug from a warm puppy is worth at least SIX cents! :-)

I sure know which booth I’d rather visit. And which one I would leave smiling rather than feeling crummy about myself.
