Itā€™s more fun to ride on top anyway.

These must be the new ā€œhorseless carriagesā€ Iā€™ve heard about.Iā€™d like to drive a Smart car sometime, but I would never want to own one.

Smart cars sell very well in Europe ā€“ and frankly, I drive one here in the US. I only need room for one (drive it mostly for work), though I have had very large people in my passenger seat (one guy 6ā€™5", another over 300 lbs.). Iā€™ve taken it cross country with no problems, get 42 mpg with regular unleaded, have hit a deer at 60 mph and was able to drive home ā€“ got rear-ended by a Jeep and was able to drive home, though the Jeep had to be towed. All in all, itā€™s not for everyone, but Iā€™ve had mine for four years, and itā€™s been a good car for my purposes.

Smart Cars also have front and side airbags and their ā€˜cageā€™ is built to race car standards. Just remember ā€“ they are built by Mercedes.
