Smart cars sell very well in Europe ā and frankly, I drive one here in the US. I only need room for one (drive it mostly for work), though I have had very large people in my passenger seat (one guy 6ā5", another over 300 lbs.). Iāve taken it cross country with no problems, get 42 mpg with regular unleaded, have hit a deer at 60 mph and was able to drive home ā got rear-ended by a Jeep and was able to drive home, though the Jeep had to be towed. All in all, itās not for everyone, but Iāve had mine for four years, and itās been a good car for my purposes.

Smart Cars also have front and side airbags and their ācageā is built to race car standards. Just remember ā they are built by Mercedes.
