So I guess he opted for direct deposit so he wouldn’t have to cry on his way to the bank (edit: this means he had to cry after checking it online each time).

As long as the kid remains a “dependent” on your taxes, you don’t charge “rent” ….

When you can no longer deduct him/her as such, then the rent begins!
