It’s a strip like today’s that makes it hard for me to read this cartoon. But I keep on hoping. . . If only LDL would get his wish this Christmas. How about it, Steve?
Come on Steve – while there are plenty of cruel idiotic people in the world, there are also plenty of compassionate and gracious people, especially in the area of animal rescue. If LDL cannot find a home just to keep the premise of the strip going, then just drop the encounters with humans and stay on the tortoise/buzzard/crow/LDL story line. Too much stress and sadness in the world, why in the comics? This must be one of the saddest LDL strips ever. It’s Christmas – how about some Christmas magic?
I’m with the folks who want to see LDL find a home for Christmas – even if it’s just for a while. He can always hit the road again in a month or two. Maybe he could find a decent human who would come into his life, at least every now and then. Most of the humans LDL has found lately haven’t really our species much credit.
Gweedo, if Little Dog is living off the streets, he may be digging into garbage cans and such. I have seen dogs and cats that don’t look like they are starving, not for food ANYWAY!

How could someone turn such a hopeful little dog away? Especially to throw a shoe.

Little Dog Lost was so hopeful in panel seven. He had done the man a favor. Good dog! Try again, somewhere else.

Little Dog is so CUTE! In real life someone, a kid maybe, would live to have him! This was so sweet and sad.
