Where is everybody, really a small comments yet. Hurry, hurry. You will miss all the good ideas we can fling around.Where to go first. How about how food is foraged and how is is distrubuted. And how many have already died just to keep this community alive. This might make a nasty feeling in poor Linda.and then maybe not. We still haven;t determined that TS ate what was left after removal of brain. Yuckky.Blessed Be
With all the drama (great stuff), I still keep thinking that there is a tailor in end town saying “you need a koala sized what? A bra? What does a koala need a bra for?”
Now Holly is going to show Endtown to Linda. Holly wants to help. How serious is Linda in adapting? Leaving Linda alone is one thing. Showing her everything could lead to something else.Remember Linda’s nightmare. She chose to go back into the Machine. What is really going on in that Koala’s mind? Will she change to chose Endtown?Or chose to sell the information for getting back into the Machine to the nearest Topsider once she gets up there? This plans to be interesting. DRAMA is coming.
What is the one thing Topsiders do not know? The location of Endtown. They know its out there but not exactly where. The defenses of Endtown are the key to its survival. Flask never betrayed those defenses by telling Topsiders about them. What if Linda is shown everything and gets topside? I believe she would use that inside knowledge as a bargaining chip to get back into Topsider one way or another. Her child is a strong pull. Can she forget about her child and just accept Endtown? If you are a mother or even a father could you do that?
Flask became a mutant because she wanted to. Linda became a mutant and she did not want to.Linda is going to have issues. I feel sympathetic towards her plight but do not trust her at all.Flask was disenchanted with Topsider dogma so she chose mutation. Linda is a fully indoctrinated Topsider who feels betrayed by Topsiders, misses her child, and desperately wants back in if she can. Either back in or death. Linda knows a way it was shown in her dream. Remove gray matter which we know can be inserted into Topsider equipment. Put her in a PT with her son at the wheel. An education computer device. Mother and child united. We do know mind wiping can be done to a limited degree. Flask and Petey…. he did remember Blackie so it appears it can be done totally or partially.Holly is going to try to show Linda the “light” but does Linda want that “light”?
Linda, being anthropomorphic should not have to wear a bra! That is one thing that should make her happier. It would be funny if Holly showed her she didn’t wear one and pull Linda’s off her. The relief should help. LOL Seriously, I think the answer could entail a trip topside and get her son. I would think she would want a chance to see him for real, even though he might be a turtle, and be able to hold him without a suit between them. Topsiders may have all become ugly, if you are what you eat.
If Linda has a shred of self-reliance, Holly will get through to her. Linda’s still viewing Endtowners as ‘you people" and “others”, and still not comfortable in her new skin. Once she accepts a few more people, and makes some friends, she’ll realize Life isn’t so bad after all. All this takes time and kindness. Her biggest block to overcome will be losing contact with her child.
And golly……If Linda needs help why not take her to the Oracle. Hmmmmm. The Oracle has all the answers. The Oracle knew about Flask. Flask was terrified the Oracle was going to blow her ulterior motives but the Oracle did not say a word. What could the Oracle say about Linda?Everyone else goes there. Why not Linda? Maybe Holly will do that. Would be a good idea here.Or did Marx drink it all.
One thing if you noticed. Holly appearance yesterday was all in your face ready to take it on.Now look at her face today. Soften by seeing Linda in distress. Holly no longer appears angry.I admire Holly’s conviction but I can say from a personal point not all people can change regardless of what you do or say. My mother went to her grave hating me for getting married. No matter what I did or say it made no difference. The door was slammed in my face every time and I mean literally. That was not HER plan for me and she told me so. So Holly believes people can change, maybe Linda can be changed or maybe not. That would shake Holly’s convictions some if she cannot change Linda. We shall see.
Folks, I realize this is late in the day. but I will re-comment when the Friday strip is published, If you are not bidding on the originals of Aaron’s work, I encourage you to at least order the prints. I received mine today, and I have to say they are gorgeous. I cannot see how Aaron can produce them for the amount he is charging. Please don’t forget the originals, but if you are short of money, as we all are this time of year, and you are a fan of Endtown, Order these prints. They would make great gifts by themselves, order two or three of each. I am blown away by the great colors and fine reproduction in evidence in each. No better way to support Endtown than owning a great set of prints. Buy the original and stick it in your safe—you know it’s gonna be valuable someday. Then get the print to hang on your wall! You’ll be glad you did!
I really do believe the key to helping Linda, is to resolve her grief at losing contact with her son. That’s actually the biggest source of pain for her at the moment.
Being put into a bot with her memories intact is too risky for her to hope for. She knows that where critters are involved, the topsiders don’t consider any spy’s promises binding. Likely after she turned over any info, the topsiders would just wipe her memory clean anyway, and her son would never see his mom again. We have to hope that buried deep down inside her, Linda is as soft and compassionate as Holly. She’s just been brainwashed by Topsider thinking.

So Linda had a go at her wrists then? Hadn’t realised that, I thought she was just losing her marbles….

I give Holly a lot of credit for keeping a level head and establishing the relationship between them without going postal like she did with Wally

But she has a job to do and she will complete it. Doesnt mean she has to like it

As for Linda…we have a saying in the military…“pull yourself up by your bootstraps and suck it up!”

And if Linda doesn’t behave, Holly’s got a brick in that purse with her name on it..

I went to the URL that you posted.
What does this have to do with Endtown?
It isn’t even accurate in the real world, and i see no connection to this strip whatsoever.
