My lover has a nephew who seems like this guy. Also makes crude remarks and shows off obscene photos from his phone at parties. I’m so glad my man mostly avoids that branch of his family.
Why do think Ted is still single. He comes up with this lines because he is afraid of commitment to women. He comes out with these lines on a date and either the date leaves him right on the spot or doesn’t return his calls and he just moves on to the next and avoids any long term commitment.
John is a successful businessman, owns his business, is a dentist, has a great (though not perfect) family. I think he is already his own boss and doesn’t need to take advice from anybody, but is willing to listen to (i.e. “put up with”) “friends” like Ted.
When I eat out, if it’s a diner, I don’t mind ‘hon’, ‘dear’, etc. I have, on the other hand, avoided places that try to create the “sassy waitress”, you know which one. The one who is constantly insulting the customer, etc. Went to one years ago, the food was good, but I hated the insults. Granted, they weren’t directed at me but at another member of our party who was deliberately insulting the waitress, because that’s what you were supposed to do.

They must have been at the table a long time for the waitress to butt in.

Honey? Next time try "Sweetie’ or… ‘Baby’ is good. I know! “Hey Mama!”

No matter what John does, he cannot follow the advice in the second panel.

If we were really honest, we’d admit that we all know someone like Ted.

When I was a waitress I hated being called honey or baby or anything that wasn’t my name, since my name was on my nametag!

if you wear a nametag, he would just ask what the other one’s name is.
