Bucky: If I could have any superpower, do you know what I would take?
Satchel: What, now or 'ever?
Bucky: Who cares?
Satchel: I can tell you which one you ought to take: America. Just don't let anybody trick you into taking mongolia.
My flex-payment to my internet provider hasn’t taken effect yet (making my connection extremely slow), so the comments loaded long before the strip did. So, all the talk about superpower nations set me up perfectly.
I love it when Satch plays obtuse. He knows how crazy it makes Bucky, but he does it with such finesse Bucky really thinks he’s dumb. I had a coworker who specialised in it, too. Keeps people from asking you for extra help.
Cheer up R2 Wolf! Al Gore said he Fixed the environment with the Clean Air Act! Course he does his best to pollute more than his fair share. But he’s allowed because: he Cares!
Taking Australia makes sense… but you should also include New Zealand. The love/hate relationship would work well..I was on Bucky’s page, not Satchel’s. Wolverine had good superpowers.
Vizzini, in “The Princess Bride”Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders – The most famous of which is “never get involved in a land war in Asia” – but only slightly less well-known is this: “Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line”! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha…
I have never played Risk. But see the benefit of taking a land mass with only one border … the ocean. …. That’s why Canada wouldn’t work, that undefended border thingie. …. we would have to infiltrate, slowly.. But not too slowly! LOL
BTW, in our games we allowed each player one “air drop” (Up to ten armies…) into enemy territory….say, in the middle of Asia, Mongolia only has two armies on it…..You can start a whole knew front inside the enemies territory…Kinda changes things…

Mongolia hasn’t been a “superpower” since the 1200s, so that would be a bad deal. The Klingon Empire on the other hand would be a pretty good choice.

The way obama’s running this country into the ground Mongolia will definitely be more of a superpower then America.

I must be more tired than I thought…it took me a couple of seconds to get the double entendre…

I find this mistake hard to buy. “Superpower” is far more often used in the fantasy sense, and Satchel doesn’t show much political interest.

OMG! A new strip!!!!! Satchel is in fine form misunderstanding superpowers. I think I’d like invincibility.

Doctor Toon. Yes, that is the best strategy because it only has one defense point….But if you can get North America, it only has 3…..Great game…
