“Discipline” must be one of the many words nonexistent in Andy Capp’s dictionary.

You’re not an ‘old geezer’ to me. Keep letting us all know how you are doing. We’re all thinking of you.

I wiill carry on posting for a VERY VERY long time to come.

Some refs just deserve to be put in a headlock. And other refs deserve to have their heads put in a bucket………@Mikeyj I really liked this one! Constable Clarence Capp looks like something out of Gilbert and Sullivan. (Of course, when constables have to deal with Andy, there’s not much doubt that “a policeman’s lot is not a happy one.”) I love the way he’s whistling a happy little tune as he keeps time with his nightstick.

You know, and don’t throw rocks at me please, I never had a problem with Joe. I felt sorry for him and felt that he was misunderstood. He was always nice to me. I know I’m one of the few who liked him, but there were a couple of us who did.

Andy has obviously never heard of the Bruce Grobelaar School of Goalkeeping…this strip looks as if it’s from an earlier age when the British game was purer and more innocent. But you could see him doing it… (Grobelaar was the Rhodesian, and for a while the Zimbabwean, international keeper. He was good enough at his trade – world-class, in fact – to play for Liverpool, then European champions every other year. But he fell from grace when it was discovered he was boosting his retirement fund by accepting big bribes from betting syndicates to throw matches.his general clowning and joking in front of the sticks excused him many things and if every so often he fumbled a collection or let in a sitter… well, it was just Bruce having an off-day. And he’d been expelled from Zimbabwe by then for criticising the leadership, so he was effectively stateless…) Now what sort of bribe would Andy take for throwing a game, and how many brewery wagons would it fill?

I’m a HUGE Pogo fan and therefore I’m very happy that Buggerlugs is posting them. I think Pogo first was talked about in here when somebody mentioned that GoComics runs old “Li’l Abner” episodes (not that there are any new ones but you know what I mean.) Several of us mentioned that we’d love to see Pogo on GoComics. (Btw @Buggerlugs I’m saving this 8 parter to read all at once. Maybe after this really political arc it might be fun to have one of Pogo’s just silly or even surreal adventure arcs? Just a suggestion from a friend and admirer.)

I’m with you Gweedo. I would try to be respectful and even support Joe’s posts. What I got back was hardly thank you. Your description is apt. Quite prickly.

Gweedo and John Pike, for a time we emailed back and forth. He was quite friendly and kind in emails. I truly think he is a nice man. I haven’t heard from him in a while, I can’t remember if he owed me an email or I owed him, but time just ran away with me, and I never got back to him. Maybe one of these days I will. I know he has some health issues and I hope all is well with him.

Is your little animation swallowing it’s tears?

    It’s very cute.

Looks like you need THIS again:

I know you’re already warm in your house but just keep it for next time you’re cold.

I’ve been sneezing quite a lot recently… Not today but a lot yesterday.

I’m not sniffly yet so that’s a good sign.

    Glad you’re doing OK.

I have not done a lot of posting on the comics I visit. But today I realised, fully, how special “Andy Capp” is. I expect Doonesbury to get wild sometimes. Also, “Non-Sequiter”. Well, the folks at Doonesbury are dealing with a wild day.But “Wozardof Id” got hijacked by a troll who turned a strip about a talking parrot into POLITICS. I thank God, daily, for having met you folks here. We are a community and we share our experiences, strengths, hopes and problems.>>I LOVE YOU GUYS
