It’s actually the last box of “Twinkies” left in the USA :p

That may be a strongbox, but, that lock should be easy enough to open; hammer and chisel should open that right up, at most, a pair of bolt cutters

Probably it will contain documents rather than treasure, but of a sort to attract the attention of Tracy and, through him, the special guest-character from Star Trek….

Impressive they would take it to the university to preserve it rather than just bust it open. (MikeyJ is right.) Not everyone with a metal detector is only a treasure hunter.

Whoa. It was in a WWII Japanese internment camp from when all Japanese Americans were rounded up…. not a high point in US history by any means. The strong box would likely contain something relating to the internment.

Don’t think so. George Takei has dropped a few hints on his FB page relating to Dick Tracy. I think they’re supposed to be doing several days on the Japanese internment camps.

Amazing it didn’t corrode! And if the lock works as well as it looks, I’ll have to shop Japanese padlocks next time I’m at Home Depot.

General comment, that I just “re-discovered” Dick Tracy and am really enjoying it! Thanks for the Christmas messages, too (esp. the one from the moon)!

Well it could be that you’re having a little problem purveying the quality of Mikeyj’s ART creations, but have to think the VISION is highly distorted ? Tired maybe, what with that Colorado - “Potluck” ?
