Back on January 24, 1938, Ernie Bushmiller added a new street orphan to the comic strip- here is the rebooted version of that story- told by Fritzi- Now, I wasn't there, but as Nancy tells it- the teenage bully hit Nancy in the back of the head with a huge snowball- Pow Ha The bully had some bullying buddies- and they surrounded Nancy- Now you're really going to get it kid My little girl was in trouble

Because today’s Nancy could handle a single bully by herself. Nowadays it takes a whole gang of them to take her down.

I like the reboot…adds to the storyline. Maybe they will put Nancy on the big screen…I could see Eva Longoria playing Fritzi.

Just like with any second- or third-hand account, the story may not be an entirely accurate retelling of the original facts, and that’s not even due to trying to embellish. Note Fritzi even says, “as Nancy tells it.” And Fritzi might not even be remembering accurately what Nancy told her. Her “little girl was in trouble,” so she may have mentally over time made the real story out to be worse than it actually was.
