Do either of you Really know each other, Cathy? Obviously not! Have a great Friday (TGIF) all! ;)

Cathy… go grocery shopping alone. Or make a list and send Irving alone. (maybe he can manage without the list, but some blokes do tend to return with a selection of gourmet cheese, two dozen tins of tomatoes and 4 dozen loo rolls because they were on special offer, but no veg , bread or milk)

My hubby and I enjoy getting groceries together.

I actually enjoy shopping more than Chris does. She had to do it for years raising two kids on her own, and all in one huge trip on Sunday. I’ve made that less necessary, and can pick up things any day, as they’re needed. Then the Sunday trips are less daunting, and we can do them together.

I’m in Canada, and even though we don’t use the word I’ve never known anyone who didn’t know what a loo (or a tin) is. Americans must be very sheltered…

I think these two need to avoid shopping together — no matter where it’s at or what it’s for. Neither one will ever be able to live up to the other’s fantasy on this subject so it’s best to stop the arguments before they even have a chance of getting started.

GrimmaTheNome: I don’t really see anything wrong with buying 4 dozen “loo rolls” if they’re on special. After all, it’s something everyone needs and uses so unless it’s an absolute emergency, why pay full price for it if you don’t have to? It’s just a matter of finding some temporary storage for all the extra rolls until they can be used [and I should know, because my husband has been known to do this exact same thing on occasion, too, if he comes across a really good deal somewhere]. ;-)
