It makes me sad to think that a mother feels happy only when her daughter marries. Of course, as soon as the marriage happens, that type of mother starts pushing for grandkids, and will only be happy when the daughter is pregnant.

Mom is just glad her old maid daughter isn’t a reject anymore. Cathy’s mom could barely hold her head up around her friends. That’s all changed now.

Cathy may be feeling all stressed out now trying to balance work and wedding planning at the same time but she needs to be careful about getting too much help from her pushy, overly-enthusiastic helicopter mom or the wedding will be more her vision than Cathy and Irving’s.

Love this time of year – no, not the wedding planning part although my younger daughter is in the midst of planning her September wedding. Today was Dessert and Dance day – the local dance studio’s rehearsal for the competitive team. Lots of desserts to munch on while watching 68 dances in 3 hours. I am exhausted now. Because of the layout of the lighting consoles I am on my feet the whole time. Worth it though – those kids can really dance! I now have 5 weeks to relax before the end of year recital which is even more fun.

Personally, I think this one’s kind of nice. I see Cathy’s mom at being overly happy that Cathy is about to take such a big, positive step in life. Don’t most of us feel like this right before a milestone event, like a wedding?
Yeah—I’m probably over-thinking this one, but still.
