Andrea: The kids must have fallen back asleep. I'll go wake them up. Cathy: They still take naps?? Oh, don't disturb them! Andrea: If I let them sleep any longer, they'll be up all night! Cathy: Wow. Nothing's changed, huh? Andrea: Not really. They'll sound off for a few minutes now...but it's nothing compared to the racket they can make at 2:00 in the morning!! Zenith!...Gus!...Time to get up, sleepyheads! Zenith and Gus: It's only 1:00 PM, mother!! Cathy: Except now they whine in full sentences!

These two were really out of touch! My best friend and I have been friends for almost 30 years and we’re still a few years shy of 40, we did lose touch for a little while but it was nothing like this. We both have large families and so it’s hard to find time to get together but we do, and when we can’t we at least talk on the phone. I’m her kids’ auntie and she’s auntie to mine.

I am eagerly awaiting Cathy’s wedding…and I hope she, too, will have a baby! That could bring back a lot of interaction with Andrea again.
