I’ll sort of (sort of!) give Cathy credit here. I’m assuming this is first thing in the morning and he just weighed himself. This is when most people weigh the least. So his loss of one pound could be due to many reasons, and it could be temporary. I only count weight loss if it stays off for at least a week, but usually a couple of weeks. Life happens and it’s so easy to lose a pound or two, but then it comes back on for whatever reason.

It is best to weigh yourself in the the morning after using the toilet and before breakfast. This will when you weigh the least. Regardless, weigh yourself at the same time of day.
