I love books. I don’t own a techie reader device, and never will. I’ll bet Cathy and Irving have several by now. Maybe one for each type of book series….bios, non-fiction, romances, sci-fi, mysteries, etc.
I agree with those here who prefer paper books. Although I admit I have a couple of books loaded on my iPad. When I travel I always bring enough paper books to last the entire trip – the electronic books are for just in case I get more reading time than planned. As far as ‘killing trees’ is concerned, trees are a renewable resource and provide a lot of employment in this area – everything from harvesting, processing and even re-planting. There a quite a few university students from all over the country that depend on the summer tree planting season to help pay for their education. (although I here our provincial government has cut back on the tree planting budget – just another brilliant way to save money and hurt the future).
No reading on the porch for me today – with humidex the temp is 39C – that is over 100F and way hotter than we are used to up here. Not complaining though, just trying to figure out how to store this heat so we can release it in January when the temperatures get down below -40C or F.
I hope everyone who drops by here (and even those who are on holidays so won’t be here) are enjoying the summer (or winter if you are south of the equator)

It looks like work will be more relaxing than their staycation.

Interesting how two of the “To read” boxes are sky-high, while the others have only a few books …
Personally, I generally prefer hard copies of books, though I do read some stuff directly from websites.

hendelca…been up to our cottage in that area when the temp is in the 90’s, and it is anything but comfortable…100 must be totally unbearable.
