Cathy Guisewite had her finger on modern society. Todays cartoon is just another example of how she researched terms and expressions , added seemingly simple drawings to parody our culture. Bloom County, Doonesbury and Cathy give a good snapshot of life in the late 20th century.

I wonder if I could write some more pithy stuff and become a comicologist? Maybe I could get business cards.

Well, that’s all a mouthful, isn’t it? Personally, I still believe in K.I.S.S.: Keep It Simple, Stupid. Ha.

HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, “Cathy” Clan.

this is summerdog is right – this sound very expensive. Gift with purchase? No such thing. You are paying for that gift in the price of the product.

We got our freezing rain last night after about 5 cm of snow fell. Sure plowed a lot of slush out of the driveway today although it was quite nice out – a couple of degrees above freezing. Must be March out there.Have a great Sunday everyone.

(to the tune of Chim Chim Cheree)When I see an ad that can’t be understood/

I know that the product has got to be good/

Those words may be crazy, but I think they’re great/

    Like sodium acetylsalicylate!

I’ve lived all my life in this weird wonderland/

    I keep buying things that I don’t understand/

’Cause they promise me miracles, magic, and hope/

But, somehow, it always turns out to be soap/

And they might as well be Chim-Chiminey Cheree!
