I knew a woman who confessed that she never felt all that obligatory affection for family. It was no big surprise when she left her husband and child a few years later.

I take a couple of weeks a year to go away without my wife. Of course I am working in a theatre for that time but I still consider it a vacation. I find when in a theatre the outside world ceases to exist. Always a great break from reality. My wife does spend a few weekends away without me.

Have a fun Saturday – hopefully with no schedule.

In the last weekend of September, I will be in Tarrytown NY for my brother in law’s remarriage. And, from Labor Day until mid-December, my brother will be spending a residency in London and would like me to spend a week over there and will pay for a round trip ticket as a birthday present. I have been playing with taking a short trip to Richmond, VA during August. I have never been to Richmond, but my brother’s family have been saying its a pretty happening place right now and it’s just a two hour Amtrak ride away. But I really enjoy traveling.

I can kinda see the appeal of vacationing alone, for the independence and lack of scheduling. However, seems like trips are more fun with family/friends, in general. For me, anyway.

    HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
