Irving called Cathy at work? I’d say he’s a coward more for that than the time. Shouldn’t he know her home number? And in 2000 many had cell phones (not smart phones though). Hmm, he does seem to be taking the easy way. And I wouldn’t accept a date request from someone other than whoever is asking me out. Ask me directly!

For the record, I got this response Tuesday from GoComics, re: the blank panels here:
The Cathy Classics feature may be run in an alternative order on other websites. However, GoComics is contractually obligated to run the feature in chronological order even when in reruns. To that end, the period of time currently being shown as empty boxes with a “coming soon” message, is a period of time in which the feature was on vacation.
Hope we’re eventually back in business with the strips showing up. In the meantime, thanks for the links.

Irving’s back. For me, that’s a good reason to have blank panels. He was the low point of the comic strip.
