Saleswoman: Welcome to fall fashion, 2000! A celebration of womanhood and the body part of the millennium: The waist! Cathy: The waist? Saleswoman: The waist! Shown for the first time in two equally powerful, equally feminine, equally amazing shapes......cinched or pregnant! Cathy: Excuse me?? Saleswoman: Look at the supermodels! Look at the movie stars! Never before in history have so many fashion icons been either "with child" or "with corset"! So, goodbye middle-of-the-road and hello middle-of-the-body! This season we show off our tiny tummies with tiny little belts......Or we show off our giant tummies with giant maternity sarongs! Cathy: WAAH!! So the IT guys CAN run the Sunday strip, but not Monday through Saturday? I call shenanigans. Someone just doesn’t want to get off their butt and do their job. (Yeah, I’ve heard the excuses as to why they can’t do it. It makes literally no sense.)

I hate corsets. They make my women friends mean.

For the last play I lit the actors wore period costumes which meant the young girl in the female lead role had to wear a corset. She complained that her movements were severely restricted and wondered why anyone would want to wear one. Ah the strange dictates of fashion.
It has been a rainy weekend for our fall fair but at least they had two good days on Thursday and Friday. To bad as this was the first in-person fair since 2019.I hope your weekend was sunny – or rainy if you need the rain.

Good to see the Sunday strip here again. Now c’mon, dailies …
I sense that we’re missing some middle ground here in the fittings for comic Cathy. Call it a hunch.
HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, “Cathy” Clan.

That is probably my biggest pet peeve when it comes to clothing stores like this: if we’re not tweens/teens, pencil thin or pregnant, they have absolutely no interest in selling clothes to us. It’s like we don’t even exist to them. Guess that’s why stores like Walmart will be around LONG after those high-end “boutique” department stores have gone out of business!

Hello and Happy Sunday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope you all had a really great weekend! ♥
