Speaking of despairing of them, I lived in a deep state of guilt by the time my daughter was pushing three. She was living with me, and two large dogs. I was outnumbered, and she persisted in dumping her food on the highchair tray and licking it off. Helping with her hands, yes, or maybe the spoon, but I wondered how long she would go on doing that. The week she didn’t dump the food at all, my bp dropped about twenty points :-)
The pity of both the tea party and the occupy people. Both are angry and what to tear something down, but lacking a plan to explain what to replace it all with or even a national unifying message. Both come across as being angry and not much more than that.
Which is a shame as both gained a lot of traction in the beginning, but are now have become polarizing elements with still no clear route to a unifying plan that any two members can articulate consistently.

That Calvin is so lucky, he doesn’t have have to live such a hum-drum life. Secretly I envy the little guy.
