Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis for February 28, 2013
February 27, 2013
March 01, 2013
Transcript:
Rat: Hey, Pig... Meet 'L'il Rat'... I signed up to be his big brother. Pig: That's great! Why'd you decide to do that? Rat: Because everyone needs a role model.
Ouch! Ouch! That’s got to hurt; looks like Pig got it in the oompa-loompas again. How can he continue to live with Rat? (I mean that in the literal sense.)
@ oldschool: the last panel scene is from opposite side (notice the direction Pig has fallen), hence, no mug in picture..Rat is a role model for future Hell’s Angels.
Silhouette, gentille silhouette . . .BTW, there’s a delayed-reaction (at least for me) pun in Bizarro today. (Their site is being difficult today – good luck in getting it.)
I thought comic strips were supposed to be funny? Problem here is that Pastis has revealed too much reality with regards to most parenting/role modeling positions in this society.
No good can come of there being a Mini-Rat…Unless he turns out like the clones Rat made that were very sweet and loving….and got him fired from his job at Joe’s Roastery…
awesome, but why does rat have to kick pig so much? its like the traditional pearls picture. rat kicking pig. it does look king of funny. i like the little guy.

Ow! First kick – to the pork chops. Second – right in the belly bacon. That’s gotta hurt.

I’d like to roll that model right into the nearest ditch – kick him to the curb, so to speak.

Whatever happened to Guard Duck’s little friend? He and Rat Jr. could pal around together.

Twice to the Oompa-Loompas, that’s bad. Hopefully L’il Rat will find a supeior role model than Rat, like maybe one of Rat’s clones.

Everyone deserves a role model, but not everyone is cut out to be one. A world filled with little Rat proteges? shiver Scary!
dputhoff about 12 years ago
Little Rat is so cute. vHe’s the cutest vermin since Ratbert. Maybe Pastis can merchandise him.
