Before reading this strip I would look for meatloaf on the menu. From now on, when I see it on the menu I think I’ll take Herman’s advice and just ask for a clean menu.
Disney Hollywood Studios has the 50’s Prime Time Cafe – the meatloaf is quite palatable. My favorite is still the peanut butter and jelly milkshake. No kidding.
I remember a food place under a stairwell in Kenitra, Morocco. It was down stairs from Jack’s Bar and pleasure Palace. The guy served the best burgers [mystery meat, but good] and pan fries in a twist of newspaper. Good Stuff, Maynard! :-D
I’m coming to this late in the day and laughing my tail off ! So is my grandson.Years ago, when he needed a step-stool to reach the stove, one of the first things I taught him to make, was meatloaf. Even his mother admits it is better than hers ( which was nothing to brag about, since she didn’t inherit the cooking gene from me. ).Anyway, he’s been staying with me for the weekend and decided he’d show of his culinary skills by making his “new and improved” meatloaf for dinner tonight. As I write, it is in the oven and the delicious aroma is making me hungry already. He now, (at 6’2" and almost 18 yrs old. ), works part-time, in a gourmet restaurant, and certainly doesn’t need a step-stool to reach the stove ! Meatloaf aside, he found the clean menu panel hysterical !

The menu sounds more appetising than the meals, and probably tastes better.

Anything “loaf” should raise a wary eye.
