Randy’s right – there’s some scientific evidence to suggest that cilantro-hating is genetic (http://www.nature.com/news/soapy-taste-of-coriander-linked-to-genetic-variants-1.11398). Marjoram, on the other hand, tastes bad to everyone! ;)
I put a copy of this comic on my ’fridge the first time it ran. It made me laugh because I really love marjoram- I put it in tons of things! It stayed posted until the ’fridge died and I had to buy a new one- about 2 years…I stand with those who hate cilantro though. Just the smallest amount ruins the entire dish. Yuck.
:) I like damn near all spices. Marjoram and cilantro are both pretty good. But, my favorites include Rosemary, coriander, fennel, and tumeric and thyme I have never met a curry I did not like. :) Then of course there are also the rather ubiquitous spices of garlic, basil, oregeno, and black pepper.

Cilantro is the spice of death for those of us with the wrong genetic variations. Soapy, bitter, and metallic.
